“Biodiversity Conservation & Utilization of Natural Resources by Local Communities in Bulandshahar district”

Grant Amount: Rs. 10,58,200

The project aims to enhance perception of local communities about the importance of medicinal herbs cultivation & to create awareness for biodiversity conservation. The activities include baseline survey & documentation of medicinal herb species in local region; establishment of mother- nursery for growing medicinal herbs, formation of Kisan Mitra Samoh (KMS); processing, packaging & marketing of medicinal plant products & publication of a booklet “Herbs for Wealth” and also to enhance the growth and conservation of different native plants and medicinal herbs species.

National Council of Development Communication (NCDC)
“Participatory Biodiversity Conservation”

Grant Amount : Rs. 14,00,883

The project aims to develop & establish a sustainable model of participatory biodiversity conservation for medicinal plants, pulse & oil seeds of the area.
Major activities include the preparation of database for biodiversity of the area, promotion of organic cultivation of valuable medicinal plants & herbs, emphasis is given to some selected medicinal herbs viz. Safed Musli (Chlorophytum arundinacub),Kalmegh (Andrographus panniculata) and Ashwagandha (Withenia somnifera).

“Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Practices through Demonstration of Biogas plant, Vermi-compost and Nadep Compost by Conservation”

Grant Amount: Rs.10,24,536

The main emphasis of the project is to create awareness and sensitize the rural community regarding the importance of alternative sources of energy like biogas and sustainable agricultural practices by using vermi and Nadep composting methods for managing dung, kitchen waste, agricultural waste and organic refuse and proposed to prevent deforestation through demonstration and dissemination of low cost rural technology.

Chhatrasal Sewa Sansthan (CSS)
"Tarikhet Non Conventional Energy Project"

Grant Amount: Rs.1283100/ -

This project has been designed with a view to minimize dependency on forest and forest products and to conserve the biodiversity by emphasizing and raising non-conventional energy related activities. For this, a biogas plant will be set up and pasturelands will be developed to sustain the plant. An action plan will be prepared for the community and they will be trained on income generation and use of their traditional knowledge.

Society for Integrated Sustainable Development

Green Technology based Initiative to use fly Ash and mud as local materials and creating sustainable livelihoods for rural people through skill building, Demonstration and dissemination of hydra form brick Technology.

Grant Amount: Rs. 1242700/-

The project undertakes to demonstrate, train and disseminate Hydra form brick technology in rural areas and minimize environmental problems in the project areas by utilizing industrial waste and byproducts for application in housing and allied activities. This will be a source of livelihood for the local people, that is eco-friendly and sustainable. A demonstration cum skill building center will be setup in the project areas. They undertake to organize a familiarization course especially for the youth so that they can learn the technology better and faster.
