wards of Agartala |

The project aims at tackling the collection, storage, transportation and
disposal of solid waste in Agartala. For this, there will be door-to-door
collection of waste by private collectors who will be provided with a
pedal-tricycle. Citizen committees and community clubs will be formed
who would facilitate payment to the garbage collectors. Provisions to
convert organic garbage to organic manure will be made. Even school children
will be motivated to participate in waste management activities in their
own capacities. Another goal of this project is make value-added products
out of waste. Also, targeted wards under the Agartala Municipal area will
be converted into model wards in an effort to set an example to the rest
of the city. |
