“Ensuring Food Security through Indigenous Food Resources”

Grant Amount: Rs. 9,46,800

The project is proposed to collect and characterize the ex situ preservation of indigenous land races of rice seed and other food crops in the cluster of selected villages, strengthening of existing processes and initiation of community based grain banks and public distribution system based on women’s organisations. It includes generating the awareness on the importance of indigenous biodiversity in food and agriculture and formulating the strategy and action components of people’s public distribution system (PDS) and also to develop a larger project that can advocate on food security issues at state level.
